My call was initially to set up my new laptop using the operating system from an existing desk top, but Richard Hunt "went the extra mile" by (a) consolidating my Norton accounts from two to one by bringing my office and home computers onto the same account saving one subscription, (b) consolidated two free Dropbox accounts (home and office) by setting up one enlarged account. He transferred all existing Dropbox files into the new Cloud storage and transferred all data files from the office computer. He set up the backing up of photos from my phone to Dropbox too. He carefully explained how the updating could be controlled and how I could access my data from any of the three computers. Marvellous, it has all created greater flexibility in the way I work, a second line of backing up and increased storage capacity.

My late wife Shena was the main account holder for her Microsoft XP computer. As a retired journalist, she used the computer every day; she loved writing. Shena allowed me to use it,and I became one on the list in MY DOCUMENTS. Eventually Shena set me up with my own screen saver and desk top, which I could easily select. Shena died in 2014.
On 3rd April I was reading one of Shena's files when an Avast security display appeared on the screen for a system update. After the process was finished I closed down. I switched on later, but to my horror, the display was not my usual one, but a blue screen with a few icons circa 2010. Where was my screen? I don't know whether I may have somehow pressed a wrong key, or what had happened.
On Tuesday I phoned PC PAL before 9.00am, and was told that David would pay me a visit between 1.00 and 3.00pm.
In fact Chris rang the doorbell just before 3.00pm, came in and got on with sorting out the problem which he had dealt with before on other computers. He eventually got it going again and everything was back to normal.
Unless you are dealing with these sort of problems every day, where do you start?
Without companies like PC PAL we would be in a fix. Its about knowing.

Hi, I was very worried when my Apple laptop lost connection, tried all the usual things, switch off/on etc. I use it for work of a delicate nature..stocks and shares! I am disabled and had to retire early.
My other 'pooter will not connect to internet but that is long term and not a worry as long as my Apple works. Real distress for 2 days then found Yellow Pages, only 2 computer people in the bit I looked at, I thought great.. someone who know you can't get your machine to communicate, therefore Yellow Pages! John answered message in couple of hours, then came right away and all fixed, many questions asked and answered, learnt a lot, thank you John, now my Hero and will have him back to cure some of my IT ills!! Dave came out on Tuesday following a call made on Monday. My (somewhat elderly) pc had died the previous week and he diagnosed the problem as the power supply very quickly. I needed some files from my old pc and he was able to extract the data files from the hard disc and also set my new laptop up ready for use. I would certainly use this service again.

I had a few problems on my computer, and me, not being a computer genius, phoned PC Pal, and asked for some assistance. The lap top I'm using was my late husbands and it had his old email address, so I wanted to changed to my new email address to sign on iCloud and iTunes. David the engineer was very helpful and successfully changed it for me. Next my iPad had the same problem, again with a few instructions, the email address was changed, also I could receive emails but not send them, I have now also had this resolved too. cannot fault this or any previous visit but have you considered a back up whereby vital info passed on to your customers is then put in brief written form. For the "getting a bit old for all this" it would be nice to have a record for the next time we have the same problem

I have been having problems for ove a year and various "engineers" have tried to fix them. I moved to Bramhall 2 months ago and saw your advert on the inter-net and decided to give Damian a whirl. He was available immediately but I was away for 3 days so he came as soon as I was available. He fixed the problem in only a few minutes and we then covered other issues I had been having.
So far, if nothing changes I see Damian as a god who succeded where other failed. My confidence in PC support has been boosted by Damian.

My iMac hard drive broke- I phoned PC Pal and spoke to David who expertly assessed my problem over the phone and arranged for Chris to visit me within 24 hours.
