Do you still use Windows Vista?
Some of you may remember that in my May article I warned you that the time is approaching for Microsoft to end its support for Windows Vista – the official end of support is 11th April 2017.
So what does this mean for you if you still use Windows Vista?
After this date your computer will continue to work, however:
• Microsoft will no longer provide security updates which could leave you more vulnerable to being hacked or acquiring viruses etc.
• There will not be any more bug fixes
• There will no longer be compatibility updates which means that any new software or hardware you try to install may not work
What can you do?
• Whilst in some cases you could upgrade to Windows 10, in a lot of cases the hardware would just not be fast enough or modern enough to run that operating system successfully
• Buy a new system. This may turn out to be the most cost effective for you
