Upgraded To Windows 10 – Which Is The Best Browser?
asks Peter Clarke of PC PAL
Several of my customers have asked me to upgrade them to Windows 10 or asked me to correct issues after they have tried to upgrade themselves. The next question they face is: once you have Windows 10 which is the best browser to use? A browser is a program that allows you to search the internet. You probably use one of the most common browsers now: Internet Explorer or Chrome. Windows 10 comes with a totally new type of browser, Edge, which promises to be more secure and more useful than other browsers. But is it?
Several comparisons have been carried out and it seems:
- Edge is good for its speed and compatibility to various websites
- Chrome, is showing its age but is still a good browser for most people’s needs
- Internet Explorer is still built into Windows 10, as it might be the best browser for those older websites that have been written to work with it so don’t get rid of it just in case!
The conclusion seems to be – take a look at what works for you and your requirements. If you are using Chrome and are happy with it, there is no harm in continuing to use it. If you currently use Internet Explorer why not give Edge a try? Chrome, Edge and, in some cases, even Internet Explorer may have something to offer you.
