Get The Message With 3 New Apps
As if there were not enough messaging Apps for keeping in touch with others, three brand new ones have been making a splash this month.
First up is Begroupd, apparently conceived by reality telly’s Khloe Kardashian.
This one not only allows you to contact groups of mates but also suggest a gathering to find out who can com.
Once the RSVPs are in and a date agreed, it synchs with everyone’s calendar Apps on their phones.
Straight from ‘whoever thought that was a good idea’ folder comes Pixcall.
It, too, manages groups of contacts but, in its case, so that they can all see what everyone is up to as the same time.
Set a Pixcall time, the countdown begins and then everyone’s phone takes a picture and messages it around at appointed minute.
Some potential for embarrassment there, I fancy.
But perhaps not quite as much of a red face as one could get whilst using Pooductive.
This is the most bizarre and extreme of Apps.
The clue comes in the name.
It is a messaging App for those who are, well, let us say, going about powdering their noses, or taking care of business in the smallest room.
Yes, the conditions of use say that you can only use it when sitting astride the porcelain throne, at which time it will put you in contact with strangers who also happen to be errm, in the same position.
Pooductive’s writers say that everyone knows “there is little to do attending to number two.”
So their new App brings people together to alleviate the boredom.
Some might legitimately describe that, though, as a bare-faced cheek.
