Keep Hi-Tech Eye On Your Pooch

Attention all pet lovers, a couple of brand new products are offering a better class of IT solution for four-legged friends.

Taking your pooch for some fun at a place where it can be safely let off the leash and allowed to roam free this weekend?
Wish you could get a dog’s eye view of the action? Then rush out for a GoPro Fetch.

The Fetch, at about £50, is a harness that will strap a GoPro Camera, another £200, to any dog.
For most mutts, it will either mount the cam to capture the footage from between the ears or between the legs as it romps around. For your Dachshunds, Dandie Dinmonts and other breeds a bit shorter in the leg department, though, it is back mounted only.
Or maybe you lean towards the feline rather than the canine. No letting off the leash for cats, they do their own thing.
The trouble is, though, you never know where they are.
Remember that time you scoured the neighbourhood, but it had sneaked back in and was on the spare bed all the time?

You needed a Pawtrack, a new GPS and WiFi enabled puss plotter.
Rather than a tracker that you can attach to a collar, which a mischievous mouser will easily lose in the undergrowth, Pawtracker has its tracking permanently integrated into a special collar which costs £99.
Thereafter, its WiFi link will show if kitty is at home and the GPS can be used with a computer, tablet or phone to track its wider roaming on an airtime account that costs 45p per day.
Pawtrack is available on pre-order from www.pawtrack.com.
