New Phone May Well Be Essential
Ordinarily, it an outfit announced that it was about to launch a new high end Android phone to take on Samsung, LG, Motorola etc, one might just yawn and ask why.
The market is stuffed full of good choices already.
However, understand that this newcomer is from a go-ahead company set up by Andy Rubin, Former Google executive and key mastermind in developing Android, and is worth sitting up to take a look.
One of Android’s challenges is that manufacturers, especially the very popular Samsung, make it top heavy with their own overlay software.
Rubin’s new Essential phone claims to strip all the bloat away and deliver a very pure version, as the man known as the ‘father of Android’ intended it.
The 19:10 ratio, 2,560 x 1,312 pixel screen, which occupies virtually the entire front face, top to bottom and side to side, is said to be highly impressive.
The dual 13MP rear facing and 8MP front facing camera will match the leading specifications on the market today, dual lenses being the hot new thing for improved quality photography.
The feature that might set the Essential apart is a rear docking station for add-ons.
For instance, Essential is also releasing a high-spec 360-degree camera as an extra. This will connect here to form the first mobile phone with this facility.
The Essential has no release date announced yet, but is available for pre-order at a cost of 749 dollars. There is more detail at www.essential.com.
It is worth watching out for, it is said to be exceptionally well engineered and might well take off, given Rubin’s reputation.
