Sunny Days Ahead Set For New Weather App
With the sort of summer we are having, keeping an eye on the weather forecast is fairly essential, but which app is the best?
Is it the Met Office, BBC Weather, Accuweather, Dark Sky, Weather Underground, the list goes on.
Well, Climendo has been making some claims to that crown in the past few weeks.
It is a weather app with a difference because it is not run by forecasters at all.
It takes its predictions from the others.
The Team at Climendo have poured an enormous amount of effort into analysing various forecasts against actual weather over several years.
From this it has determined which simulations have most consistently delivered accurate results.
Then, when it displays its forecast in the app for a particular location, it selects its data from the forecasts with the most reliable track records I that spot.
The app also has an option to display, in a list, the five most trusted forecasts Climendo uses in that particular place for a particular time, up to ten days ahead. It also sticks a wet finger in the air to display the confidence it has in its forecast for a particular time on a scale that ranges from very uncertain to very certain.
If all the forecasts agree, it is able to predict certainty.
If they are all over the place, watch out for unpredictability.
The main drawback of Climendo is that it does not offer an hour by hour picture, just 2am, 8am, 2pm and 8pm daily.
But it does offer a weather symbol, temperature, rainfall and wind speed prediction for each of these times.
Several app watchers forecast sunny times ahead for Cimendo.
