There’s Value In Having Honor..

A new brand has just arrived in the UK phone market and its entry level model carries the claim of being ‘most affordable premium smartphone of 2016.’

It seems that no-one is arguing because they do appear to pack exceptional value for money.

We can expect to hear much more of mobiles carrying the name Honor.

The Honor 5X, a 4G Android phone with a 5.5in, 1080 pixel display, along with a 39MP rear and 5MP front camera is the first model with its capabilities to break below the £200 barrier for a SIM free sale.

Its bigger brother, the Honor 7, despite having a marginally smaller 1080 pixel screen, has higher spec processor and 20MP/8MP cameras.

It retails about £250, SIM free.

This model is also available on contract from Three.

This pair is likely to appeal particularly to those who covet an iPhone but cannot justify the high cost.
This is because Honor phones have an overlay user interface that runs on top of Android to give a look and feel similar to iOS.

For the same reason, though, this is likely to frustrate those who harbour a fondness for the more usual Android layout.

Honor is not a cheap and cheerful newcomer. It is an arm of the Chinese telecoms giant Huawei, a dominant player in some smartphone markets.

They have little UK Penetration so far but have caught attention as the manufacturer of highly rated, and much more expensive, google Nexis 6P phone.

Beware, though, and this can get confusing, the Honor 5X is not the same as the recently launched Nexus 5X which is manufactured by LG!
