Find Right Apps For The Perfect Holiday Snaps

As the summer vacation season picks up, it could be time to start thinking ahead about travelling tech.

With the numbers of megapixels on offer, it is becoming common to dispense with the separate camera for recording holiday highlights and use the ubiquitous smartphone instead.

What better for instantly transmitting those sensational snaps as postcards from paradise?

However, smartphone lenses have their limitations and sometimes their pictures could do with a tweak or three before publication, so it is a good idea to have some photo editing capability on board.

Unfortunately, there is a bewildering array of choice and bigger, better versions come out each year.

Some of these have a full arsenal of capabilities to crop and correct images. Of these, Darkroom, Photoshop Express and VCSO Cam are amongst the most highly regarded by serious users. Others such as Afterlight, Snapseed and Pixlr are also widely applauded.

Some Apps, though concentrate on excelling as specific functions.

SKRWT, for example has gained a fearsome reputation for its ability to straighten out small lens distortion, like restoring the edges of buildings to the straight and parallel lines of a quality picture.

Faded, Filters and Phototoast specialise in framing and overlay effects to add interest and make phots look cool.

TouchRetouch focuses on removing the unwanted as cleanly as possible, like erasing a lamppost that appears to be growing from a loved one’s head, perhaps!

FaceTune touches up portraits, making teeth whiter and removing facial spots.

For the best holiday pix, the thing to do is to find the right editing Apps for you and get to grips with them a few weeks before hitting the airport.
