Microsoft are about to launch a handful of products onto consumers this month, making it a pivotal moment for the company.
In late October, Microsoft's new Operating System, Windows 8 will be launched, alongside Windows Phone 8, Surface, Internet Explorer 10 and Xbox Music signalling the rebirth of the company in the consumer market. The relaunch introduces a unified interface.
Windows 8 sees an entirely new direction for Microsoft, out with the old and in with the new 'Metro' / 'Live-tiles' interface, slowly adopted from Windows Phone 7. Microsoft will also be showing the world what their designers and engineers are capable of developing with Surface, a tablet device with 'a unique expression of entertainment and creativity'.
Microsoft will launch its latest browser, Internet Explorer 10, which Microsoft hopes to put a stop to consumers leaving the comfort of IE by switching to Chrome or Firefox. Finally, Microsoft will make another push into the music market with its Xbox Music platform.
These products represent three key segments that Microsoft are aiming to relaunch: PC, Tablet and Phone and alongside with Microsoft's new look and branding for its product line, Microsoft aims to relaunch itself after three years of product development.
