LOL (laughing out loud) has been added to the Oxford English Dictionary. The term LOL has been used for more than 20 years as a geek-speak term and has since gone mainstream. Now I come to think of it I have a couple of mates who speak the word in replacement of laughing….
I for one am quite happy to see this, language is a vibrant and evolving animal. Terms and smileys are a way to inform others how we feel in a written way. It may seem childish at first and I’m sure there are people who will not like this one bit…
