System tool is the most recent attempt by hackers and scammers in trying to trick you out of your hard earned money. System Tool is what we call a Rogue Antivirus and its goal is to harvest your credit & debit cards details.
The first thing a hacker will do is find a popular website, hack it and then places its own virus on there, internet users then mistakenly download this virus and get infected. The next stage is quite amusing because it then brings up a window warning the user that their computer is infected with all these viruses. After the user tries to get rid of the viruses, the malware program will warn the customer stating that their antivirus is not activated and will attempt to scare the user into entering their card details for protection. What happens next is up to the mercy of the scammer is question.
PC PAL advises that you never enter your card details on any computer that is telling you that you are infected, if you have already then best to be safe and cancel your card(s).
More importantly it’s time to make sure that you take steps to prevent this in the future and purchase some Internet security software. Free Security software is a start but please remember that manufactures of these products do also sell paid products and possibly do not give you the level of protection needed in their free counterparts.
We sell F-secure which is a full Internet Security Packard and for a small price of £45 a year you can protect 3 computer systems at a time. We also give you this protection free of charge if you purchase our Online Backup for a year which is £80 for 3 Computers as well.
So if you are having any problems with this virus or wish to get protected then I think I speak for the whole PC PAL Network when I say gives us a call.
