Scientists last week unearthed evidence which will further add to growing speculation that humans have been repairing PCs for much longer than previously thought.
Various fragments of what is thought to be internal workings of a hard drive were discovered alongside fossilised remains of a Neanderthal skeleton, in the West Midlands. Neanderthal was only previously have thought to have lived as far North as Northern France, but the discovery made last week had scientists theorising as to how the further progression was achieved.
Neanderthals were expert tool-makers and this is what is thought to have enabled them to be very successful at repairing PCs, especially at such a time when hardware repairs would have been far more the norm, whereas today, it is software issues which make up the bulk of the work.
When analysing the hard drive, some data was recovered, although personal details were not revealed due to data protection.......
